Board Members

Board Member Qualifications

To serve on the District Board, an individual must be a registered Colorado voter. In addition, a board member must either (1) have lived within the District for at least 30 days or (2) own taxable real or personal property within the District. Property owned through a legal entity (such as an LLC, corporation, partnership, or trust) does not qualify.

Board members must take an oath of office and attend regular board meetings. A board seat may be vacated if a member misses three consecutive meetings and continues to miss meetings afterward.

The time commitment is generally modest. Board members are expected to attend regular and occasional special meetings (typically lasting about two hours), respond promptly to District-related emails, and are encouraged to participate in training opportunities offered by the Special District Association and the Colorado Division of Local Government.
